Our hosting platform does not start and end with the servers that host your website. There is a lot involved in providing a highly resilient hosting platform, which starts at the network level - managed by Burstfire. Their network is fully redunant, making use of Cisco 7600 and Cisco 6500 routers and switches. They have multiple routers/switches and provide us with a dual feed to our two firewalls (which also run auto-failover software) which then feed on to our switches. All of these are at a minimum of Gbps connectivity, meaning that there is no shortage of bandwidth, especially as Burstfire hold multiple transit agreements and hundreds of peering agreements. 

Our new hosting platform (scheduled for implementation January 2010) centers around multiple Dual CPU Quad Core Xeon processor machines, with many GB of memory and huge amounts of RAID protected storage and redundant power supplies. We are able to utilise virtualisation software to ensure rapid failover of any server problems and always ensure that all of our servers are kept well within optimum utlisation to ensure that your website always remains lightening fast!
